KawaNOW Forum Member Expectations and Responsibilities

Congratulations on joining one of the best forums you'll ever be a part of. KawaNOW was created to provide a place for all Nomad owners to learn and gain knowledge about their Nomads. As with any forum, there are some rules that we suggest you adhere to that will make your stay here on the forum a more pleasant experience. First, let's take a look at what you can expect from KawaNOW:

- You can always expect some type of answer to your questions: KawaNOW features some of the most knowledgable people when it comes to Nomads. These seasoned riders and Nomad owners have years of experience in the use of Kawasaki Nomads.

- You can expect comradery: KawaNOW reaches around the world. In every part of the US and abroad, there are Nomad owners that frequent this forum. After a period of time on the forum, you will find yourself becoming a part of the rides and rallys conducted each year.

- You can expect respect: Whether you are a new or old member, you will be treated with respect and will be part of the group if you so choose.

Now, let's take a look at what is expected out of you on the KawaNOW Forum:

- Although it is not required, we strongly suggest that you have a KawaNOW number issued to you. If you have not registered for one, feel free to visit the KawaNOW Join page at www.kawanow.org. This will enable you to be a more integral part of KawaNOW and become involved in various KawaNOW programs. There is no cost to join.

- Concerning signing up on the forum: There are known issues with the activation of a forum account if you are using Outlook or AOL as your primary email account. When you sign up for the forum you are automatically sent an activation code to the email address you used to sign up with. If that address uses Outlook or AOL you may never get the code. So if you sign up and don't get your code the only answer is to get a free web based email account, such as MSN, Hotmail or Yahoo. Once you get the activation code you can set your profile to use your primary account and just forget about ever using the other email address again.

- We realize that you may be new and probably not privy to past discussion. We ask that you look through the archive of threads to see if there is an answer to your question before posting a new thread. If you do this and still do not have an answer to your question, then feel free to create a new thread and ask.

- We suggest that you introduce yourself on the forum. Feel free to create a thread introducing yourself and your Nomad.

- KawaNOW features a number of different boards:
KawaNOW Nomad/Motorcycle Board - allows normal, general Nomad and motorcycle related discussion.
KawaNOW Vendors/For Sale/Wanted/Parts Board - features posts from members selling and buying parts as well as various offers from some vendors.
KawaNOW Lighter Side Board/Funny/Jokes - features jokes, funny items and misc. The Lighter Side Board may contain offensive wording.
KawaNOW Off-Nomad Topics/General topics Board - allows off-Nomad topic discussion.
KawaNOW Trips/Travel Information Board - features travel and trip discussion and information.
KawaNOW Motorcycle Safety/Riding Techniques Board - features posts and information concerning motorcycle safety and riding techniques.
KawaNOW Garage Board - If you have a question about Nomad mods, experiences in general with your Nomad that you have first hand knowledge and can provide conclusive results, feel free to post. The Garage was meant for Nomad mechanical questions and discussion. We want to keep it clear of general comments and humorous personals.

- We also suggest that you log into your profile and fill out all information pertaining to yourself, for instance, fill in your City and State, Gender and all other information, so that other members will know a little bit more about you when communicating.

- We ask that you be respectful to all members of the forum and treat them as you would have them treat you.

- Please type all posts in upper and lower case letters. If you type in all caps, it might be perceived as if you are angry.

- The KawaNOW forum prides itself on being a little different than other forums. Here we like to communicate as if we are looking at you from across a table, discussing an issue. Humor is practiced heavily on KawaNOW. Although it might be perceived as ridicule at times, please know that it is not our intent to ridicule or treat you with disrespect.

- Feel free to express your feelings on KawaNOW, however, you may not get the response you want at times. Please keep that in mind and be respectful of that.

- We want you to become part of the group, contributing any information or experience you may have with the Nomad. However, in communicating with others, we ask that you keep and open mind to our discussions and be slow to anger. Take the bad with the good in every thread and be patient.

- Feel free to become familiar with the other topics in this FAQ section and make yourself familiar with the content on our website at www.kawanow.org.

- We have a strict rule on KawaNOW when it comes to harsh language and nudity pictures. No full or partial nudity pictures are allowed anywhere on KawaNOW (Even in the Lighter Side Board). And, harsh language is not allowed to be used also. Although we know that there are ways to get around it, KawaNOW does utilize a censorship nanny to try and curb harsh language.

- I must also mention that the KawaNOW forum is not a Democracy nor does it give anyone the opportunity of totally free speech. To keep order and safety for everyone on the forum, I watch and monitor most activity. If I feel someone gets out of line with their attitude or posting, I will act accordingly to keep the forum peace. You have the right to express yourself and give your opinion, but keep in mind, it's HOW you give that opinion. Although it doesn't happen often, I have banned members due to their uncooperative attitudes.
